Description

Abell 39 is a large, dim planetary nebula located in the constellation of Hercules. It lies at a distance of 6800 light years from Earth. It is quite large, measuring 2.5 light years in diameter. Its central star is a 15.6 magnitude Type O sub-dwarf.
